TJ Howard became a Civil War Reenactor in 1994 when he was recruited by the 1st Nebraska out of Omaha Nebraska. He has been an active member of the unit ever since & has seen many events and campaigns. He has served as a soldier and at one point or another has served as Corporal and Sergeant and up to Lieutenant and now that he is getting a bit older in the hobby he decided to try to expand his impression and took an interest in the Medical aspect. He started setting up a small recreated field hospital and the impression has grown over the past few years to a point that Muddy River Battalion has made Major Howard our official Battalion Surgeon. In real life TJ is Retired from the Salon & Hair business & is a Vietnam Veteran having served in the U.S. Navy. When not Reenacting TJ enjoys doing Carpenter work in his garage & sailing. He is also an active member of the Sons of Union Veterans organization. Major Howard currently lives in Omaha Nebraska. He is not really the online or internet type of person.
