Capt. Curtis Gammill - (Battalion Chaplain)

Curtis Gammill was working as a maintenance man at the Confederate Veterans home & memorial park in Higginsville Mo. back in 1993 when he met a guy by the name of Jim Pearson who was a member of the 16th Missouri Infantry CSA. This was Jim Crofutt's Confederate unit at the time. His Curtis Joined up and his first event was the Battle of Lone Jack.  After a few years, the old 16th Missouri was absorbed into another organization and Jim Crofutt had gone off & founded the 7th & 30th Missouri (aka Missouri Irish brigade). Curtis took a few years off and having moved to Brookfield he then reconnected & joined the Missouri Irish Brigade and served with it for many years eventually working his way up through the ranks and becoming Captain.  In 2015 Curtis organized the 42nd Missouri out of Brookfield which a year later they redesignated to the 18th Missouri Company A (aka Morgan's Rangers).  Due to health and age but more importantly recently developing a personal relationship with Jesus Christ Curtis interest in the hobby has changed and is now currently serving the Muddy River as its Battalion Chaplain.

Curtis Gammill Passed away on Jan. 19, 2021, due to Covid 19.
